Short Term Disability
Short Term Disability (STD) provides you a fantastic way to protect your income in the event you were to be medically unable to work due to a qualified injury or illness. Benefits begin on the 8th calendar day of injury/illness, and are payable up to 25 weeks. Short Term Disability provides a weekly benefit paid directly to you, from as low as $100 per week up to 60% of your weekly income (with a maximum of $1,000 per week). More information about Short Term Disability is provided within the following documents; STD Flyer, STD Class 1 Certificate, & STD Policy.
A pre-existing condition clause would apply to any disability within the first 12 months after coverage begins, and applies to any condition diagnosed or treated up to 3 months prior to coverage start date.
